Retail Management Solutions Partners With VUCA Health To Release Prescription Drug Information For Patients in Pharmacy POS Systems

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) – (February 26, 2015) – Retail Management Solutions, an industry leader in POS systems that supplies small pharmacies with specialized point-of-sale software, has just partnered with VUCA Health in order to provide clients with a new feature, called MedsOnCue, which will help pharmacists educate their patients on prescription drug use. Paperless Patient Education Can Save Millions

From Consumer Reports to peer reviewed journals, a number of studies have shown that less than 25% of patients actually read the education sheets they receive with their prescription medications—and far fewer actually understand the information those leaflets contain. (Abstract) Since January, the pharmacy at Ocean Medical Center in Brick has been placing QR codes on prescriptions that, once scanned with smart devices, direct patients to videos about their prescriptions. QR codes in the prescription bottles link patients to educational videos about the prescription. The ambulatory pharmacy at Ocean Medical Center offers prescriptions to patients who are being discharged as well as the hospitals team members.
