David Medvedeff, PharmD, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. David Medvedeff has committed his entire career to the triple aim of advancing healthcare quality, enhancing the medication use process and empowering patients to take a more active role in their health and wellness. David most recently served as the CEO of Avatar International, where he worked with prestigious organizations such as The Mayo Clinic and Kaiser Permanente to give their patients a voice in the optimization of the care experience – a meaningful component of healthcare reform. Prior to joining Avatar International David was the President of Informed Decisions, a subsidiary of Gold Standard which was acquired by Elsevier Health; the world’s largest medical publisher. His multifaceted role with Elsevier simultaneously included leading the company’s electronic prescribing initiatives, managing the predictive modeling and analytics unit MEDai, as well as serving as the Vice President of payer and provider strategy for the Clinical Decision Support division.
In recognition of his leadership in pharmacy and healthcare technology, David has been the humble recipient of numerous industry accolades. Some of his more notable honors include being the only two-time winner of the American Pharmacist Association’s Pinnacle Award as well as receiving the prestigious National Prescott Award. In pursuit of his triple aim David plays an active role in several transformational healthcare organizations. He has chaired the National Changing Diabetes Program Health Information Technology group, The Pharmacy Quality Alliance’s Diabetes and Medication Reconciliation Workgroups and served on the Florida Behavioral Health Collaborative. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Strata Decision Technology, Pharmacy Quality Solutions and the Executive Board of The Beryl Institute.
Dr. Medvedeff earned his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida, where he served on the faculty of College of Pharmacy and earned the Outstanding Alumnus and Outstanding Service Excellence awards.
Kimberly S. Russo, PharmD, BCPS
Chief Clinical Officer
As Chief Clinical Officer, Kim Russo is responsible for VUCA Health’s content development and maintenance, including overseeing its operations and establishing a culture of excellence. Since joining the company in 2012, Kim has led the content team to create the largest medication video library in the world, consisting of over 2200 unbiased, world-class educational videos on medications, medication administration and health conditions. Dr. Russo is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist with extensive experience in patient education and a passion for patient advocacy. Prior to leading the content team at VUCA Health, Russo served as Clinical Manager of a 298 bed acute care hospital for over twelve years. In this role, she guided the Doctor of Pharmacy team with her unwavering mission of always placing the patient first in the medication use process. Under her leadership, the hospital achieved high standards in three high priority areas for both patients and providers: medication safety, antibiotic stewardship and cost-effectiveness. During this time, she was an active member of the academic community through service as Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Florida.
Though her passion lies in the practice of clinical pharmacy, she also has pharmaceutical experience in retail, wholesale and industry. Kim currently resides in central Florida with her husband and two children.
Chief Technology Officer
A recognized leader with expertise in healthcare IT, Wuhong Li has delivered a number of class-leading solutions in such areas as drug information database, clinical decision support, patient experience survey & data analytics, electronic data exchange and various integrated applications for pharmacy and hospital systems. Wuhong most recently served as the VP of Information Technology at Avatar Solutions, where he built a high performance IT team and led the technology transformation to deliver personalized patient satisfaction survey, employee engagement survey and data analytic services to some of the nation’s premier healthcare systems, hundreds of hospitals and physician groups. After leading the technology startup and product development at Gold Standard which was acquired by Elsevier Health, and just prior to joining Avatar Solutions in 2009, Wuhong served as Senior VP of Application Development at Elsevier Health. He was instrumental in establishing Clinical Pharmacology as the premier drug information system and clinical decision support engine used by more than 2,000 hospitals, 35,000 retail pharmacies, health plans, PBMs and academic institutions throughout the US. He also led the development of eMPOWERx™, a mobile point-of-care ePrescribing system that revolutionized the electronic medication history data exchange and integrated clinical decision support space, and was recognized as the Enabling Technology Award winner at HIMSS 2005. In 2006, Wuhong received the Computerworld Honors Program’s Laureate Medal for KatrinaHealth.org, an online medication record access system implemented in a nationally coordinated rapid response to Hurricane Katrina.
Wuhong attended the University of Florida where he studied communication networks and received his Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Wuhong also earned his Master of Science degree in Computational Physics from the University of Southern Mississippi. Professionally, Wuhong has been active member of NCPDP, HIMSS, ASAP and HL7 contributing to the interoperability development of ePrescribing and Medication History standards. He is a HL7 certified CDA specialist.

Most recently, Leah served as the CFO of Avatar Solutions where she was instrumental in the growth of the organization. As a key member of the senior team, Leah was focused on acquisitions, integration, and improving business processes that resulted in strong returns. Prior to joining Avatar, Leah served as the SVP of Finance and Operations of Gold Standard, which was acquired by Elsevier Health, the world’s largest medical publisher. Leah started with Gold Standard during its first year of business and had a steady progression of increasing responsibilities, including finance and operations. While at Gold Standard, Leah was focused on providing meaningful financial data, improving operations, acquisitions and divestitures.
Leah earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida.
